    El informe anual de Transparencia Internacional sobre la percepción de la corrupción en el mundo muestra que se ha avanzado en el África subsahariana y en Europa oriental. El informe destaca también que la corrupción afecta mayormente a los países más pobres donde hay desgobierno y el dinero se adquiere mediante prácticas corruptas que a menudo ejercitan las empresas transnacionales con sede en los países ricos.
