    La Slovaquie, un pays de 5,4 millions d’habitants, compte 39 établissements d’enseignement supérieur et 250 000 étudiants. En 2008, seuls deux de ces établissements utilisaient un système de détection des plagiats. Préoccupante, cette situation exigeait une solution. Le ministère de l’Éducation décide alors de lutter systématiquement contre le plagiat avec pour objectif qu’à l’horizon 2010, tous les établissements du pays utilisent le fichier central (NCRTD) répertoriant les thèses et les mémoires ainsi que le système national de détection des plagiats (NPDS).
