    Ayer dio comienzo la segunda cumbre del movimiento para la ética en la universidad y la buena gobernanza en la Universidad de Jimma. El jefe de la comisión federal en defensa de la ética y anti-corrupción declaró que las universidades deberían prestar atención a partes iguales tanto a generar como a formar graduados con ética y competentes. El responsable de la comisión añadió que la adjudicación de proyectos de construcción más importantes de las universidades, las ofertas públicas de adquisiciones, los servicios de comedores para estudiantes, etc. se deberían basar en la rendición de cuentas y la transparencia.

    Un nuevo reporte ha descubierto irregularidades masivas en la adquisición de libros de textos para escuelas públicas, con directores jugando un papel importante en el problema. El fraude abarca desde firmas falsificadas, entrega de libros fantasmas, y comités escolares que seleccionan materiales de instrucción a proveedores únicos y sobrevalorados. El Gabinete del Secretario de Educación, recientemente dijo, que a pesar de que el gobierno destinó Sh10 billones para libros desde hace tres años, la mayoría de las escuelas no contaban con los materiales.
