    Dans un district rural de l'Ouganda, près de la moitié des enseignants étaient absents lors d'une journée d'école normale, privant ainsi les enfants de leur droit à l'éducation. Le Réseau africain pour la prévention et la protection contre les abus et la négligence envers les enfants (ANPPCAN) a formé quelques élèves leaders dans chaque école pour qu'ils relèvent la présence de tout le monde, y compris des enseignants. En conséquence, l'absentéisme des enseignants a chuté à 10 % dans ce district, en partie grâce aux élèves leaders.
