    Dans le cadre d’un vaste effort des Pays-Bas pour relever les normes scientifiques, tout chercheur doit garantir qu’il s’oppose à l’inconduite dans les travaux de recherche ou qu’il ne pratique pas une « science bâclée ». En réponse aux inquiétudes portant sur une « crise de la reproductibilité » dans les milieux scientifiques et à la suite de procès retentissants pour fraude, le pays a mobilisé 8 millions d’euros pour comprendre le phénomène, trouver des solutions et parvenir à reproduire des travaux fondamentaux.

    Une analyse par le Wall Street Journal de données portant sur une bonne dizaines d’universités publiques américaines révèle que pendant l’année universitaire 2014-15, les établissements ont enregistré 5,1 rapports concernant des allégations de fraude pour 100 étudiants internationaux, contre un rapport pour 100 quand il s’agit d’étudiants américains. Les enseignants et les étudiants américains interrogés ont affirmé que, visiblement, un nombre non négligeable d’étudiants étrangers, soit ne comprenaient pas, soit n’acceptaient pas, les règles du pays en matière d’intégrité académique.
