To promote the improvement of the quality of education, KIND collaborated with ANSA-EAP, to form a joint project titled Feedback for Improving the Quality of Education (FIQE), a textbooks monitoring initiative. During this two and a half year project, KIND and ANSA-EAP used three social accountability tools of Public Expenditure Tracking Survey (PETS), Citizen Report Card (CRC) and Social Audit (SA) to find and debate on textbooks issues for feedback and recommendation to improve this specific service. Some of the issues addressed include: the distribution of state textbooks in markets at inflated prices, the poor quality of textbooks, poorly regulated textbook distribution and textbook shortage.
