This article presents the seven-step process to maximize validity evidence that led to the development of the Questionnaire sur la tricherie aux examens à l’université (QTEU). Composed of 28 items grouped into 7 factors (cheating on exams, peers’ influence, methods of cheating, institutional context, perception of control, performance goal and commitment to studies), the QTEU was developed based on an in-depth conceptual analysis review of the scientific literature on cheating on exams and on the work of Frenette, Hébert, Thibodeau, and Ndinga (2018) on scale development with several evidences of validity. Presenting acceptable psychometric qualities, the QTEU fills a need for French-language questionnaire on the predisposition of cheating on exams and allows the measure of its amplitude within university students.
