The GTZ code of conduct comprises rules on how to deal with conflicts of interest and to avoid corruption. The message it sends out is that rather than seeing corruption as a necessary evil or a by product of work processes, there must be a strong commitment to fighting it. It argues that the best way to combat corruption has always been to bring it out into the public. Amongst others areas, it deals with bribery, the acceptance of gifts and nepotism.
