The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has resumed its anticorruption campaign at institutions of learning. The campaign is aimed at educating students on the mandate of the Commission and sensitizing them on the effects of corruption and the benefits associated with its eradication.

The report focuses on the development of teaching materials to raise awareness among students of the problem of corruption in schools in Cameroon (including intimidation, harassment, etc.). The materials are varied and include whistle-blowing boxes.

An anti-corruption mechanism has been set up in three Côte d'Ivoire towns (Divo, Korhogo and Bouaké). This is a toll-free number that allows victims of corruption in schools to report the perpetrators and any acts of corruption without risk of reprisals.

A new anti-corruption campaign is being launched in Romania, this one aimed at students who give gifts to their teachers. In line with the second MDG of achieving universal primary education by ensuring that all girls and boys complete a full course of primary schooling, moral values and ethics need to be inducted in the education system aside practical skills. Though some people have argued that corruption is as old as mankind, it is mankind that can avert the situation through structuring curricular whose aim should be producing morally upright citizens who abhor corruption.
