Chapman University professor is suing a group of students who posted two of his exams on an education-based document-sharing website to solicit in advance answers to several essay questions. According to the civil complaint filed in U.S. District Court, the professor is seeking damages for copyright infringement and ethical violation of Chapman’s honour code. The tests contained a warning that they were copyright protected.

Two teachers are accused of using their test prep business to help people cheat on the state's teacher certification exams. The charges include 108 counts of wire fraud and three counts of theft of trade secrets. According to the US Attorney’s office, the couple took the Florida Education Leadership Exam and Florida Teacher Certification Exams several times, and along with other employees memorized the questions and answers in order to design a study guide.

Despite the efforts of teachers to prevent the use of phones during tests, students confess they are willing to do anything to “make the grade,” including cheating, lying, taking shortcuts, and hiding cheat sheets. For language tests, Google Translate has become a major tool for students wanting to cheat.

The accused teacher cultivated academic dishonesty in her classroom by providing binders with test questions and answers for students to use when completing assignments and examinations.

According to the New York City Councilman, teachers have been forced to pass students who do not do well on exams or who do not even show up to class regularly. Evidence of cheating and intimidation from principals was shared with the Department of Education and the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Media have reported allegations of creative cheating strategies at universities across Canada, including hacking grades, bribery and breaking into offices to steal exams. A survey conducted at 11 Canadian higher institutions showed that 50 per cent of undergraduate students have committed some form of academic misconduct.

Landry College Preparatory School in Louisiana is under federal investigation over its college admissions practices, transcripts with fake grades, non-existent school clubs and fictitious classes. Many students accused the founder of the school of abusing them and falsifying their transcripts. The court records reveal that he was accused of choking and dragging a student. In the investigation, the founder said that wall-sits and kneeling were used to motivate students and prepare them for the challenges of the real world.
