Many senior educations officials have been arrested or disciplined for abuse of power for personal gain. Investigations revealed that the results of more than 200 students from the three provinces who took their exams had been modified. Dozens of students from the best universities were expelled or voluntarily dropped out of school after their results were corrected.

A Bangladeshi Member of Parliament, who holds one of the 50 seats reserved for women, was expelled from the university after hiring up to eight proxies to take her exams. According to the Open University's vice-chancellor, the MP’s registration has been canceled and she would not be allowed in any examination under the university again.

A junior college administrator apologized to district officials for trying to use the unusual anti-cheating technique: students wearing boxes, cut open on one side, to prevent them from being able to copy other people's work. Even though the “URKUND” software was made available for free by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the use of the software has not started yet. According to the UGC regulations, any similarity of over 10 per cent in two documents is considered plagiarism or duplication.

The elementary and secondary education department has terminated the services of 104 teachers and other employees in the merged tribal districts for securing jobs on fake degrees or absenting themselves from duty for a long time during the last two decades. The department of education will examine the academic degrees and certificates of all employees in tribal districts.

A student from East Greenwich High School student is accused of buying answers to an advanced placement test and selling them to about 20 or 30 other students. The school’s superintendent told NBC 10 News that investigations are being conducted and will apply the student’s code of conduct whenever is necessary.

The University of Lagos has suspended a lecturer who was caught on film propositioning and sexually harassing an undercover BBC reporter. Several students in the film also made allegations of abuse against the lecturer. The university said it was "highly embarrassed" by the allegations and pledged to do "all that is necessary" to investigate and combat the "menace" of harassment at the institution.
