    Over 47,000 ghost students registered in public and private universities

    Thanks to the introduction of a new biometric census system, education authorities discovered the presence of 47000 fictitious students in public and private universities in the capital Conakry. Thanks to this information, the government will able to better equip its universities and teaching staff, by making sure that funds are directed where they are most needed. The Minister of Higher Education has indicated that this process may also pave the way for the introduction of an automated university access system.

    Blida: recuperation of several properties benefits the education sector

    The identification of all the properties originally meant for the education sector in Blida which had been diverted from their original purpose has, over the past few years, allowed for important assets to be recover for the sector and those that work within it, indicated the head of education of the Wilaya on Monday. The operation, which has been going on for two years throughout the Wilaya, has enabled the recovery of a number of land assets and their exploitation for the good of the education sector.

    Plagiarism is increasing at the secondary school level, according to the numbers revealed by the Inter-academic Commission of Ile-de-France. Between 2013 and 2014, the number of cases of plagiarism and copying reported to the disciplinary commissions in Ile-de-France doubled, increasing from 24 to 47. They represented last year 25% of the 188 cases of fraud on exams reported to disciplinary commissions.
