Over the last few weeks, the various faculties of the University of Lyon have been doing awareness training with their students on the question of plagiarism. Presented as members of the animal kingdom – sheep, parrots or chameleons, the campaign distinguishes between different types of plagiarists: involuntary, negligent or serious.

The report focuses on the development of teaching materials to raise awareness among students of the problem of corruption in schools in Cameroon (including intimidation, harassment, etc.). The materials are varied and include whistle-blowing boxes.

The participants reflected on accountability and transparency of management and financing of the teaching system in DRC, and elaborated implementation strategies for the various stakeholders. .../... Several themes were discussed of which the integrated strategy of the fight against corruption in the education sector and the financing of education by the State at the local level, teachers' salaries, etc.

An anti-corruption mechanism has been set up in three Côte d'Ivoire towns (Divo, Korhogo and Bouaké). This is a toll-free number that allows victims of corruption in schools to report the perpetrators and any acts of corruption without risk of reprisals.

The Director General of Transparency International Africa talks about the fight against corruption in schools. She looks more specifically at the situation in Côte d'Ivoire, and the extent of "endemic corruption". In her view, the responsibility for fighting corruption lies with all citizens, and governments have a responsibility to give young people the space to act.
