Several pedagogical experts took part in a workshop in June 2022 to develop educational programmes on the fight against corruption and good governance organised by the High Authority for Good Governance. The project aims to instil integrity, transparency, and accountability in learners from preschool to higher education, including secondary schools and training schools for public officials.

A Human Rights Watch report revealed that during the Covid-19 school closures, governments in 49 of the world's most populous countries violated children's rights by approving and enabling the widespread adoption of EdTech products. Children have been forced to pay for their learning at the cost of their rights to privacy and access to information. Of the 164 EdTech products examined, 146 (89%) monitored children's personal data secretly and without the consent of children or their parents, both inside and outside their virtual classrooms and on the internet.

A high-ranking Department of Education employee used his position to rip off $5 billion from the Government money that should have been spent on public schools. According to the State's anti-corruption, watchdog IBAC, for 7 years he covered his tracks by organizing fake invoices sent from companies owned by him and his friends and family that did not do any work.

Investigations have been launched at the Ministry of Education after an audit revealed that the payroll system has been used illegally to increase the salaries of two employees. The first one, working in administrative affairs, received a bonus on her salary of 1,500 dinars per month from April 2019 to April 2020, and the second employee working in the private education department received a bonus of 800 dinars on her monthly salary from September 2019 to May 2020.

The FBI announced that the former Education Secretary has been charged with allegations that she used her position to give 1,034 square feet of a school to a company in exchange for financial benefits. If found guilty, she could face sentences of up to 10 years for conspiracy and bribery, and up to 20 years for wire fraud.

According to a report published by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the International Quality Group, corruption in higher education vary between countries but it highlights unethical, inappropriate, and illegal practices. Some examples include university leaders and professors with fake or undeserved doctoral degrees impacting on the governance of some Russian universities, ‘ghost advising’ or absenteeism by senior academics, delegating their responsibilities for teaching or supervision to junior colleagues or research students, is widespread in Kosovo, or students and teachers sexually harassing, threatening or harming academic teaching staff in Uganda.
