The Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BBISE) is conducting a campaign to eradicate cheating in SSC examinations. Vigilance teams are being deployed across the province to ensure fairness for all 143,000 students in 430 centers, as well as inspecting the facilities and implementing digital attendance systems to preserve the integrity of the exam. This initiative marks the beginning of a reform of education and signals a commitment to honesty and hard work while unequivocally rejecting cheating.

The quality of education in Pakistan is extremely poor by world standards. Children study the same books as their parents did, or probably their grandparents. In Sindh, students who don't sit exams end up passing them. In Lahore, at the main examination centres located next to the board office, bribing and cheating are common practices. Professors are absent from classes and concentrate on maintaining their relations with influential individuals. Thousands of UK nationals have bought fake degrees from a multi-million pound "diploma mill" in Pakistan, a BBC Radio 4's File on Four programme investigation has found. But in a comical turn, the Higher Education Commission recently gave its best research paper award to a scholar who had been blacklisted by the regulatory body in 2008 for publishing a plagiarized paper.
