A teacher was arrested after stealing examination papers during a sitting exam conducted by the West African Council. Six of his students reported to the police that the teacher mandated them to extract sheets from the Math and Science question booklets and sneaked them out of the testing center.

In order to capture teachers’ daily attendance, the State Government introduced fingerprint devices in 219 secondary schools under the Ministry. The new system will not only help reduce teacher absenteeism in primary and secondary schools but also eliminate ghost workers. The State Commissioner for Education reported that 53.5 per cent of teachers do not show up for work at all.

Many students accused the founder of the school of abusing them and falsifying their transcripts. The court records reveal that he was accused of choking and dragging a student. In the investigation, the founder said that wall-sits and kneeling were used to motivate students and prepare them for the challenges of the real world.
