Chinese authorities will target gift-giving to teachers, illegal charging of extra fees and embezzlement in the education sector as part of China's corruption crackdown, the country's top graft watchdog said on Tuesday. The President has embarked on a sweeping campaign against corruption since 2012, pursuing high-ranking "tigers" as well as lowly "flies" in the government.

On Teachers' Day in China, it is traditional for pupils to show their appreciation to their teachers. However, in this video, we see a different twist to the initiative. Some parents shower teachers with expensive gifts based on their income. Unfortunately, this practice is often used to influence teachers, leading to differential treatment of pupils in the classroom. 

Disgruntled parents in Zhejiang have complained to provincial education authorities over a policy that gave 19 children of government officials and teachers special treatment in college entrance examinations. These Practices are often linked to abuse of power and corruption, showed the vulnerability of the education system.

Eight parents and teachers who used hi-tech equipment to help children cheat in Chinese college entrance exams have been sent to prison. They were given sentences of six months to three years after being found guilty of using mobile phones, tiny earpieces or mini scanners in order to obtain state secrets.
