    Según una encuesta realizada por el Centro para el Desarrollo del Activismo Juvenil (CROA por su sigla en inglés) entre 2.000 estudiantes universitarios y 500 empleados, uno de cada cuatro estudiantes se ha enfrentado a hechos de corrupción, como pagar por una nota mejor. Además de los sobornos y la compra forzada de libros de texto, algunos estudiantes fueron presionados para afiliarse a partidos políticos y extorsionados para obtener favores sexuales. El CROA no sólo transmite las denuncias a las universidades para que realicen una investigación de seguimiento, sino que también planifica formación sobre lucha contra la corrupción para profesores, personal y estudiantes. Y está trabajando para incluir el conflicto de intereses en los códigos de ética de las universidades.
