Corruption in the education sector of developing countries is a widely observed phenomenon, yet research and discussion on the subject has intensified only recently. This paper reviews the general discussion taking place about the issue in the primary education sub sector. It begins by identifying the main areas of planning and management that might give rise to corrupt practices. It then moves on to examine various strategies and policy recommendations that might be instrumental to curbing corruption. The final part highlights diverse consequences of corruption and underscores its link with the Education For All (EFA) goals.
