    School, college syllabus may soon have content on corruption, ethics

    The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is in talks with HRD Ministry, CBSE, AICTE, Medical Council of India (MCI) and other educational bodies to introduce course content on corruption and ethics to make the students aware of the scourge and its consequences. If implemented, students in schools and colleges will soon be imparted lessons on the menace of corruption, its debilitating impact on socio-economic sphere and ways of tackling it.

    From 4 to 10 July 2016, Transparency International (TI) organised its 7th annual School on Integrity in Vilnius, Lithuania. 120 young activists and future leaders from over 60 countries exchanged their experiences in the fight against corruption and participated in the anti-corruption and accountability training.

The course, held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, was organised by Universitas Gadjah Mada with the support of UNODC and the Interdisciplinary Corruption Research Network (ICRN).

Though some people have argued that corruption is as old as mankind, it is mankind that can avert the situation through structuring curricular whose aim should be producing morally upright citizens who abhor corruption.
