Nagarik app

As part of its Digital Nepal policy framework, the government is currently digitising and streamlining various public services through the Nagarik app and website. Citizens are required to verify their phone number with a one-time password (OTP) and link their identity through the app to access a range of public services (voting, vehicle registration, etc.). The accessible public services include 'Hello Sarkar' - a public grievance redressal mechanism. Citizens can also submit their complaints by phone, email and social media (Facebook, X, Viber and WhatsApp).

Students Acting for Honesty, Integrity, and Equality (SHINE)

Integrity Action's Students Acting for Honesty, Integrity and Equality (SHINE) initiative works with young people (aged 14-19) who become monitors to identify and solve integrity problems in their schools. With the support of local partners, Integrity Clubs have been established in secondary schools to encourage the active participation of young people at risk of exclusion as monitors. Integrity Action uses a mobile application called DevelopmentCheck. Monitors use the app to record their findings, including problems they identified, proposed solutions, and feedback from the community on the project or service being monitored. Although use of the app is restricted to authorised users, the web application with all notifications and images is openly accessible.
